It’s the little things that I enjoy about the comic, the things that most probably wouldn’t notice.  For instance, today’s comic is 100 pixels wider.  I’m moving to a 900 pixel width, up from 800.  I’ve bumped the font size up two points.  Little things, probably unnoticed unless you compare comics side by side (like when we make a book, eventually).

But, the best little thing is the background in Santa’s War Room.  Those big monitors on the wall?  The images on them?  They’re from a super hero web comic I did way way way back when in college, around the turn of the century.  Those comics were crazy infinite canvas style monstrosities.  My drawing style for them was more painting than traditional comic drawing.

I love super heroes.  That’s what I always wanted to make, but somehow I found myself doing comic strips about mice or toy companies instead.  I’m not really sure what happened or how it happened or even when it happened, but something changed.

I always had so many ideas for super heroes, both my own and the Marvel / DC properties.  I kinda want to do super heroes again.  Any longtime fans know that last super hero series I did was for Graphicsmash called Aces High.  The high concept was a super hero whose power is being cool, like the Fonz only to the Nth degree.  I tried drawing it, but I’m not built for drawing super heroes, so some other folks came along and drew it with me.  I never got to finish it.

I want to make super heroes again, but I’m gonna need someone to draw it.  That’s probably why it won’t happen.  But, on the off chance you rock at drawing and are willing to work for free for a year or two, let me know.
