I need to write this to explain some stuff.  Since it returned last July, I’ve been super-committed to keeping Fun Factory on schedule.  We took 1 week off and ran character profiles, but aside from that, I think we’ve been hitting every scheduled update, with a few exceptions, like when the server was down or March 28th.

For me, I think of the comic on time if it’s there for you to read when you wake up in the morning.  It’s a holdover from reading the morning paper, I admit it.  A lot of comics don’t hold to that and are successful, like Penny Arcade and PVP until the past few weeks.

As many of you know, I teach at an art college.  This semester has been a bit grueling, and so we switched to the Tuesday- Friday schedule rather than the Monday-Thursday we started with.  This probably would be working out fine if it wasn’t for the fact that I’m going to need neck surgery.  I have a problem with some discs pushing on the meat in-between them.  This is very painful.  So, as I wait for surgery, I am now on Vicodin, making me that much more like House.  (First way I was like House is that I’m smarter than everyone else.)  The Vicodin puts me to sleep pretty quick, so that is killing my work time.  Between the pain and the Vicodin and school, things are getting a bit tricky right now.

What does this mean for you, the reader?  Should you give up?  Hells no!  Right now, it means that the comic may be like on March 28th, where it will update at some point during the day.  The best way to keep up with when the comic updates is to either follow me on twitter or friend my artist page on Facebook.  I always post to those when the comic updates.

I am taking steps to get things back together in the next few weeks.  Surgery is not scheduled yet, but I’m looking at June for that.  In July, Chondrion and I are expecting our baby.  So, I’m bringing on an intern to assist with some things on the comic.  This person will hopefully start in April and be with us until September.  I’m also looking at ways to speed up the process for creating the comic.  Clemens and I are on it as best we can be, and we both felt I should let everyone know what is going on.

Thank you for your patience and continued reading!
